Sarah Palin was in Madison, Wisconsin last Saturday addressing a Tea Party rally.  During her speech she exhorted the GOP leadership in Washington to "fight like a girl!"   Easily the best line yet of the infant 2012 presidential campaign, it highlights the frustration and anger felt by conservatives toward a House leadership which seems to lack the fortitude to face down Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats.    The excuse that Republicans control only the House of Representatives has already grown very old indeed.   While true, it ignores that because Republicans control the House, they can refuse to agree to raising the national debt ceiling or funding executive departments or programs.   Barack Obama and Democrats won't agree to limit EPA's regulations of CO2 emissions?   Fine, no money for the EPA.  Shut the entire agency down.   Liberals would rather abort the American military than cut Planned Parenthood from the Federal dole?  No problem, simply don't include a line item for Planned Parenthood.   Force the Senate Democrats not to fund the troops.   Force Barack Obama to veto a bill to pay the U.S. military.    

Conservatives outside of Washington, D.C., have long understood that the Democrats WILL NEVER consent to cutting Federal spending in any significant way unless a legislative loaded gun is placed to their temples.    Despite a mountain of evidence that would have convicted O.J. Simpson even in L.A.,  Congressional Republicans still seem not to understand that they are dealing with a group of crack addicts.    Democrats are addicted to spending just as crack addicts are addicted to the drug, and expecting them to quit the habit without being cutoff "cold turkey" is illogical and doomed.     That's why a government shutdown is not to be avoided but absolutely embraced.  Democrats can only be convinced Republicans mean business if Republicans are willing to take away the Democrats' crack.   If that means total withdrawal until November 2012, so be it.     The nation will not wither away if the Federal government is placed on ice for an extended period.   

Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and other conservative women understand this.    John Boehner and Eric Cantor seem unable too.    Maybe "Fight Like a Girl" should be the new Tea Party battle cry.

The current president of the United States is a petty little tyrant, consumed with the delusion of his own brilliance and importance.    The authoritarian steak in Obama runs a mile wide and permeates his utterances and very posture.    The  arrogance of the man is breathtaking and does not befit the chief executive of a democratic republic.

A president who is a smart-aleck is not an attractive site and the contempt Obama holds for those who disagree with him and oppose his policies is manifest.     This contempt bleeds over into his treatment of the leaders of friendly countries whom he considers supplicants, such as Gordon Brown of the United Kingdom and Benjamin Netenjauhu of Israel.   The calculated snubs and rudeness inflicted on these gentlemen should cause every American embarrassment.  Frankly, both men have shown remarkable reticence and self-control; perhaps it might be better if either or both had told this snot-nosed snob of a president to stick his attitude where the sun doesn't shine.

Americans have traditionally liked their elected leaders confident but humble.  We prefer that they remember that their role is to govern, not rule.    That concept is foreign to Obama.    Everyday he proves that in his heart he is not an American at all, but snug in the role of potentate, issuing ukases to the peasants who are expected to obey without question.      Well, Americans are not peasants and will not accept the role of serfs without a fight.     As the Obama mask slips more and more the baseness and corruption of the man becomes apparent.    He is a Chicago ward thug; a disgraceful political hack who hoodwinked a well meaning electorate into voting for the myth of the moderate racial unifier.      Obama ran a dishonest campaign, a bait and switch on the American people who wanted to feel good about themselves by electing the first black president.     As a committed leftist he views the truth as an artificial construct,  and as consequence has no problem abandoning it.

Being without honor himself, Obama has no compunction abandoning long established allies and betraying national commitments.    That he is determined to abandon Israel is apparent.   The president has taken sides in the Middle East cauldron against a western oriented, democratic nation populated by a hardy industrious people who have transformed a desert into an oasis.   These people, God's chosen people, have survived many attempts to destroy t hem over history and Barack Obama will be no more successful in his effort than previous devils.    It is simply shameful that this Marxist disciple who, if not a Muslim, certainly identifies with them, and thus tars the United States by his policies.   

A man without truth or honor makes an excellent demigod, and Obama fits that description to a tee.   For the Marxist there is always a bogey man, always  a "them," responsible for all bad things which befall us.    The identify of the bogey man depends on the issue:  sometimes Wall Street bankers, or take radio and conservative commentators.  Soon it will be uncooperative Israelis, who just can't seem to be convinced to accept the professed goodwill and promises of Hussein Obama,  and march joyfully to their destruction.

There is no compromise or dealing with Barack Obama.   He must be defeated and drive from office.   His vision of America leads to a communist/socialist hole of stagnation and misery.   

I've now learned that I'm an enemy of the state.   You see, I'm a Christian and a member of a church.  In Obama's leftist America, that makes me an enemy.    Add in that I'm a conservative and I may be carted off to the gulag any moment.

As was predictable, any criticism of Obama is now labeled racist.   Don't like his tie?  Racist.   Think he needs to freshen up his breath?  Racist.   Pitches a baseball poorly?  Racist.    It was foolish to believe that the election of a black president would usher us into the new age of racial harmony.    On the contrary, polls reflect that in excess of 90% of black Americans support Obama, while support from other racial groups tumbles.    Black Americans, understandably, are emotionally invested in Obama, and so any criticism aggravates the exposed nerve of race consciousness.    Leftists of all colors seize on Obama's race in the attempt to silence opposition to this socialist agenda.   The leftists dream of being able to silence conservative talk radio and conservative commentators on television and print.   Remember, these are people who view the Constitution as a thing to be circumvented or ignored.    Seizing control of key industries, silencing political opposition, these are standard operating procedure for Bolsheviks.     They also count of the basic passivity of the populace to let them get away with it.   They have made the calculation that the Tea party movement, conservatives and others, for all their sound and fury, are only that: sound and fury, followed by grudging acceptance of the status quo.    Are they right?

As I have written on this blog many times,  Barack Obama is the first president in history to hate the country which elected him.     As when an old building is demolished to make way for the  new structure, so Barack Obama is intent to destroy America as exists today and replace it with an America made in his image, in which labor unions conscript members by force of law, formerly illegal immigrants vote for leftist candidates in perpetuity, and the government redistributes your money to favored client groups.    Throw in the betrayal of long time allies and the abandonment of Israel and you get the picture.   Obama's America will bear a striking resemblance to today's Venezuela with the fast track to Cuba.  

There is no one to blame for this situation except the American people.   We (of at least the majority who voted) elected Obama and the Bolshevik Democrat congress which is showering us with this abominable legislation.   People ignored the clear warning signs and voted for "hope and change."   Well, we certainly have gotten change but I'd have to dispute the hope part.     I guess it is a great day if you prefer Karl Marx to Groucho Marx, Vladimir Lenin to John Lennon, and Barack Obama to Thomas Jefferson.  

The next congressional election will be the most important one in American history.   Quite literally, the fate of the republic will at stake.   On one side is a future of regimentation, appropriation, social engineering, and serfdom; on the other is the chance to stop this and lay the foundation to reverse the present downward spiral and defeat the curse of Obamism. 

Barack Obama is more than simply a disaster on the domestic front.   While attention has been focused on the health care debate, Obama has practically declared war on Israel, which is merely our oldest and most reliable ally in the Middle East.   The bombast directed by the administration toward Israel would almost cause one to think that a Moslem was heading the United States.

One false premise of the Obama policy is that the United States must appear as an even broker between the parties.  The United States can never be an even broker between barbarian regimes which behead infidels and stone woman and a democratically elected, Western oriented and kindred state by religion.     Attempts to do so smack of deception or spinelessness, or worst, both, which is how most Arabs and Palestinians view Obama.     Arab culture respects strength and no amount of apologizing, groveling and speechifying can substitute for firm, uncompromising support for Israel and condemnation for radicals and terrorists.    No one trusts or respects a leader who will turn on a friendly nation on the weakest of pretexts in the futile hope of appeasing folks who history have shown to never take "yes" for an answer.   Palestinians and Arabs want Jews dead and Israel gone.   That's the hard truth and not acknowledging it is an impediment to clear thinking leading to sound policy.  The only to convince them that there desire to destroy Israel must be abandoned is to make it perfectly clear that the United States backs the Jewish states 100% and will support it in eliminating, root and branch, those terrorist organizations which choose to attack it.   Blatantly taking the side of the Palestinians does not promote negotiation or peace; far from it, it promotes Palestinian obstruction and misbehavior.    Obama and his team cannot be so stupid or incompetent as to not recognize this fact.

The real gravamen of Obama's beef with Israel is that it has not yielded to the One's wishes.  As I've said before, Obama is an authoritarian who is contemptuous of opposition.     How dare those Jews defy the One!   American foreign policy toward Israel is directed by personal pique more than rational calculation of national interest.

I'm convinced that Obama's animus toward Israel influences his approach toward Iran acquiring a nuclear weapons capacity.   That the administration has delayed, weakened, and generally dithered in doing anything substantive to prevent Iran from acquiring that  capability is obvious.    I think Obama in his heart wants Iran to have the bomb to equalize matters with Israel.   That such a desire is insanity is beside the point; we are talking about a man whose mentality and attitudes are that of a Moslem chieftain.     Obama will not be the least bit unhappy if and when Iran gets a bomb.   

Barack Obama has one objective in foreign policy:  weaken American influence and power in the world.   I'd say in that he is being remarkably successful.

Well at least they gave us an up or down vote.   On the roll call of dishonor and betrayal may be added the names of 219 Democrat congressmen, 60 Democrat senators, and 1 Democrat president, Barack Hussein Obama, who now takes his place in the troika of socialist heroes:  Marx, Lenin and Obama. 

Yes, indeed elections have consequences and when the American voters installed a ultra leftist Congress and ultra leftist president it became inevitable that socialism would result.   Really, faulting Obama and the socialist Democrats for acting as they have is like complaining when the dog eats your dinner - it's just who they are.    They believe they know better than you how to run your life and how to spend your money.   If you are comfortable with serfdom you will enjoy Obama's America.    The decision about who lives or who dies, how one lives, how much one earns, what is permissible to  buy or sell, and other matters becomes the province of government, from which we can expect increasing edicts and intrusions until all of us are reduced to beggars asking for handouts from the all powerful centralized state.

Health care "reform" is only the beginning of the New Order.   The risk posed by elections must be removed; hence, we can expect in short order a new push for immigration "reform."    Millions of illegals must be converted to voters who whose votes will be purchased for the Democrat party with your tax dollars.   Fundamental change involves not only wrecking the republic and destroying the economy but remaking the demographic composition of the nation and thereby its culture.    Millions of ill educated and poor immigrants will give their allegiance for a generation to the party which promises them subsidized health care, housing and food.  

And what about our foreign policy?  The Obama policy is to alienate friends and cowtow to enemies, weakening the former and emboldening the latter.   A course has been set to reduce military spending and preparedness, including unilateral nuclear disarmament.    We are soon to experience the world in which America is not the preeminent power, which I suspect we will learn is a much more dangerous world indeed.

We have learned that there is no such thing as a conservative or moderate Democrat.  Even those who wound up voting against health care "reform" still voted for Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the House, and their votes keep the ultra radical leftists in charge of important Congressional committees.    All Democrat office holders, every single one, is an enemy of the Constitution, our form of government, and our traditions and values.   If we have learned nothing else, it is that a vote for a Democrat is a vote for usurpation of our liberties, a trespass on our property, a seizure of our lives and futures.    All of them, ALL OF THEM, must be ousted from office.

I have written many times that Obama hates the country he was elected to lead.    Don't think for a moment that he is through.    The consummate egoist that he is, Obama will be encouraged to pursue the rest of his radical agenda, supreme in his believe that his vision of America is good and just, and all his opponents knaves or fools.   Mr. Obama is  the most dangerous threat to the liberty of the people of this country that it has ever faced.   His heart is the heart of a tyrant and his program one of authoritarianism.     People must understand that we have as president our own version of Lenin and Stalin, who craves power and despises not only the Constitutional order but America itself, as he views it.  

I wish I could be optimistic about November's election making a difference.    Frankly, I'll believe it when I see it.   I just wonder if maybe Obama and the socialists have read the people right - that the majority of the population no longer wants to stand on their hind legs as free men and women but are ready to cede their liberty and power of decision to government in return for "free" services.    We shall see.     In the meantime perhaps conservatives should identify a state, say for example, Texas, and all of us move there and make it our citadel.   

It's a pity.   Two hundred twenty three years ago the Founding Fathers gave us a republic with a limited central government.    We are on the verge of losing it all.
   

Evil is in the saddle in Washington, D.C., and as usual contends its vices are virtues and its ways are good.  Two hundred and twenty-three years after being handed a republic the people of the United States are soon to be reduced to the status of supplicants to the government which was supposed to be their servant.   The agent of this change is the modern Democrat party, which through a combination of fanaticism and misplaced party loyalty is about to stab a dagger in the heart of the American system of government via health care "reform."   Americans will cease to be citizens and become clients of an all powerful centralized state, ruled by an army of bureaucrats with the power of life and death of their lives. 

Empires and great nations are seldom conquered but rather collapse from internal rot and financial misfeasance.   We are witnessing this process now in the United States.   Whatever the merits of reforming the health care system it is undeniable that doing so will incur massive costs in the trillions of dollars that we simply cannot afford and will lead in short order to national bankruptcy.    Yet the sponsors of this obscenity seem to believe that our ability to tax, borrow, steal or manufacture money is endless.   There are still checks in the Congressional checkbook and therefore there is money to spend!  

Irrationality and denial of reality are in the DNA of leftist ideology.    Never before in our history, however, have such a group been given the keys to power and the ability to enact their schemes into law.    The American people have only themselves to blame for this situation, having been blinded or deceived into voting into office leftist true-believing fanatics who conceive that the first duty of a representative is to defy the opinions of the represented in pursue of the greater good.    When crazies are elected it follows that crazy legislation will be enacted.    Hence,  health care "reform," to be followed by immigration  "reform" and environmental regulation "reform."   This is a cup which will be proffered to us again and again until the crazies are driven from power, hopefully before it is too late.

In Barack Obama we have the first president whose heart, whose values, whose every thought and impulse, is as alien to traditional American values and believes as the surface of the Moon is to the Earth.    That Obama has socialist tendencies is a given; that he has the attitude of an authoritarian blatant.   Contemptuous of opposition, impatient with questioning, heedless of truth and fact, Obama in is his heart of hearts is a tribal chieftain, now a democratically elected leader.    As the new chief he wants to remake the tribe in his image and remove obstacles to implementing his reign.    Thus we have the continuing concentration of power in the executive branch of government in Washington.   What is going on now is just the beginning of the complete destruction of checks and balances in our structure of government, with the final objective of making Obama the final arbiter of political and economic life in the country.

But enough of all this.    Are there any rams in the American flock of sheep?    Who or whom will rise up and declare, "No, I will not yield; no, I will not obey; no, I will not permit my country to be made over into a banana republic."   Obama and his allies are counting on the American public to have a short memory; to indulge in greed for government  benefits; and for their anger to fade to apathy, indifference and finally acceptance of the fait accompli.   Only time will tell if they are right.

Last Friday President Obama signed into law an increase in the authorized United States public debt.  The maximum amount is now $ 14.3 trillion dollars ($ 14,300,000,000,000.00).    Let's put that into some perspective.   Mr. Tiger Woods, when he was playing golf and his cart was full of endorsements, was said to have grossed approximately $100,000,000.00 in annual income.    Should Tiger return and reclaim the same annual earnings, it would only take h im 143,000 years to cover the debt allowance.    Tiger better get back soon!

When I was born in 1957 the entire annual Federal budget was less than 100 billion dollars; the total Federal debt was less than 500 billion dollars.     Now Obama has submitted a budget for the fiscal year 2011 in the amount of 3.8 trillion dollars and the public debt approaches the 14.3 trillion ceiling.    Has this titanic increase in the budget and debt purchased us a better Federal government?   

No country's economy can survive spending and debt on this scale.      If the United States was an individual, its creditors would already have forced it into bankruptcy.   Either we will go bankrupt and default on the debt or we will incur rampant inflation to so devalue the currency that it becomes worthless.    The irresponsibility of the Baby Boom generation which has presided over this epic disaster will work its pain on their heirs, who will live in a far, far less affluent and influential nation.  

I suppose there is a way to avoid calamity but unfortunately the necessary measures required at this stage cannot command majority support in the nation.    Hence we are fated to experience the humiliation now being vested on Greece.  Our creditors will dictate financial terms of surrender.

Barack Obama and his minions will not be satisfied until all Americans are made dependents upon an all-powerful Federal government, which compels them to come bowl in hand begging for government gruel.    More and more Americans are waking up to the radicalism of Obama and the socialist Democrat Congress, who intend to bankrupt the country in the believe that doing so will result in the nation demanding massive redistribution of wealth and property among an impoverished people.    We are governed by a collection of fanatics, headed by a rabid socialist who believes his destiny is the remaking of America along more "fair" and "equitable" division of wealth.    When you accept, as Obama does, that the wealthy and successful among us became so thorough some sort of moral theft from the less well off, then it becomes a moral duty to be attained via government intervention to extort from one to give to the other.    Of course history has taught us repeatedly that such efforts lead to (1)  the flight of wealth and talent from the country, resulting in (2) general decline in living standards, (2)  as well as increased authoritarian government regulation, all leading to (3) eventual economic collapse.    For liberals, however, history is a subject not to be learned from but to be ignored.    To them, each past failure results not from the fallacy of the underlying premise but from some failure of execution, hence, this time, IT WILL WORK! 

Fanatics are impervious to history, facts or reason.   The world exists as they imagine it and nothing and no one will convince them otherwise.    Obama is just such a fanatic, which makes him by far the most dangerous man in America.    There will be no more to the center for him.    Moving to the center would be an act of apostasy, a betrayal of true faith of socialism.    This is not say that he will not pretend to moderate, but, as any student of the old Soviet Union can tell you, deception, lying and pretense are all acceptable means to accomplish the ultimate objective.   Indeed, Obama has already demonstrated his ability to pull the wool over the eyes of the American people in his campaign for the presidency.     Let us pray that the public is no longer willing to fall for smooth phrases in modulated tones which, when not saying anything of substance, are in fact intended to deceive. 

If the description "educated idiot" was entered in the dictionary, it would be accompanied by the photograph of Barack Obama.     His foreign policy is obvious failure to everyone, yet the president continues to insist on an "outstretched hand" to enemies who would spurn his overtures and pour contempt him and the United States.   Obama's domestic agenda is rejected by majorities on the American people.   Yet with a confidence unique to the  strutting egoist, Mr. Obama continues to forge ahead, sufficiently marinated in his megalomania to believe that the American people and foreign leaders will be persuaded if only he gives one more speech or makes one more television appearance.   The most overexposed president in history believes (!) that the failure of others to embrace his  plans relate to a failure to communicate rather than genuine disagreement.    Being a socialist ideologue, the president inhabits a world of wish fulfillment and make believe, where all will be well if only the people consent to sacrifice their liberty and future to the tender control of Barack Obama and his administration of uber-leftist czars and other quacks.     Barack Obama has reached the apex of arrogance and ignorance, utterly oblivious to the wreck his policies have made and are making of American foreign policy, our economy, and our future.

I credit Obama with having convictions.  Unfortunately,  all of his convictions are antithetical to those held by most Americans.    Obama really believes his own propaganda.   In his view, all American history before his election should be classified as B.O. (Before Obama)  much as world history is divided by the birth of Christ.  All history B.O. is viewed as revealing the United States as an imperialist power reeking death and destruction to a innocent world.  Hence the president's apology tour(s).    As I've written many times,  Obama  despises the history and traditions of the country he was elected to lead.    Therefore, as a matter of duty, Obama desires to remake the country in an image he and the  socialist Congressional Democrat leadership find attractive.    Accomplishing this objective requires the destruction of the society that existed B.O..   Hence, a health care "reform" plan that will destroy the best health care system in the world.  Hence, economic policies which must lead to national bankruptcy.    Once things are bad enough,  Obama and his socialist supporters believe the American people, left bankrupt and defenseless will embrace the leftist socialist-communism agenda so dear to the hearts of the modern Democrat party.    

Insofar as attitude is concerned, very little separates Obama from the Islamic jihadist in their view of America.    He is as  great a threat to everything Americans hold dear, to our freedom, or values, or very lives, as any terrorist.
Commentators have wondered if Obama will tack to the center if presented with electoral reversals.   Not a chance.   True believers, ideologues, do not modify their views in face of opposition; they become more fanatical, more fervent in seeking to obtain their objectives.   There is no hope for compromise or laying aside of partisanship while Obama is president.   Either Obama and the leftist Democrats will succeed in remaking America into the latest socialist utopia, or conservatives will achieve enough electoral strength to force a stalemate.     

Many have commented on President Obama's aloof and detached response to the failed terrorist attack on a commercial aircraft on Christmas Day.    I think the answer is simple, if difficult to accept for a president.   You see, Obama, in his heart of hearts, thinks we deserve to be attacked, that America is as a nation deserves to be punished.  Of course, he can't actually say that, so his lack of verve when commenting on terrorist acts results from the inner conflict between deeply held conviction and public relations.    However, make no mistake, this president believes in his bones that America  is a deeply flawed nation which has inflicted injury on all sorts of innocents at home and abroad, as well as the Earth itself.    The president has no pride in American history, faith in its Constitution, or respect for our traditions and values.   To Barack Obama, America before his term was an arrogant nation responsible for much evil, a country to be apologized for and diminished.    And he is working overtime with a compliant leftist Congress to accomplish this goal. 

I've commented before that Americans simply cannot grasp the fact that we have a president who despises the country he was elected to lead.    We've never experienced a leader like this before.   Americans naturally assume their president is a patriot:  Barack Obama is not a patriot.   Barack Obama is a committed leftist whose loyalty is to an alien ideology inimical to everything we hold dear.    It grates on him mightily that he must for the sake of political survival pretend to care about national defense.      Any decision he makes which superficially appear robust in terms of fighting America's enemies is calculated for public effect, not for actual effectiveness.   Hence his dithering for weeks over sending reinforcements to Afghanistan, and then sending less than requested while setting a withdrawal date. 

Barack Obama is sui generis in American history.  A president who cares about national security only as it relates to political viability; a political ideologue who believes that America has it coming.    The United States is in grave danger while this man holds office.

The degree of contempt held by the president and Congress for the American people is staggering.  They really believe that come November 2010 the voter will have forgotten the giant raspberry planted on him by the liberal Democrat congress in enacting Obamacare.    The blatant purchasing of the votes of senators via favors and special consideration for there states and the willingness of the administration and liberals to swallow anything in order to secure passage of a bill brings into stark relief the magnitude of the cynicism and corruption of Mr. Obama and the liberal Democrat leadership of the Congress.

This episode has its positive aspects.   For one, the position that there exists a moderate element in the Democrat party, whether called "blue dogs" or whatever, has been exposed as a myth.  There are no moderate or centrist Democrats.  All Congressional Democrats are liberals, distinguishable by shades from pink to red indicating intensity of their madness.    Second, all Congressional Democrats are loyal only to the ideology of liberalism, not the United States of America.    Every Democrat who voted for Obamacare in whatever permutation violated his oath of office and betrayed the U.S. Constitution.   They conspired in broad daylight to subvert our form of government.   And they are succeeding.

Third, it is impossible to deny that the on the federal level representative government is broken and incapable of repair.     The American people are dead set against Obamacare but it matters not one wit to Mr. Obama and 60 Democrat senators.   Why should it?   Even if a few are defeated they will land in some Washington law firm or lobbying outfit,  where they will rake in millions on past associations.    Being voted from office hardly qualifies as punishment if the result is a million dollar salary and perks.    In theory, this could be fixed by moving power away from Washington to the states and local governments, making the career of former congressmen less attractive.   In other words, if the Federal government was reduced to the role envisioned by the framers things could be retrieved.   The chance of that happening however, is zero.  

Fourth, truth has fled from the scene in American public life.   Bald, bold, shameless lying is now universal in all aspects of our culture.    Our politicians, media elites, celebrities, sports stars, lie to us regularly, with unabashed and brazen whoppers.   The culture of lying creeps into polling and statistics, so that all information now is suspect.  We ive in a time in which literally nothing can be accepted at face value.    The destruction this wrecks on society is staggering.

Fifth, we now know (as if there was any doubt) that not a single Democrat is a patriot.   Every single one places fidelity to ideology over loyalty to the country.     A Democrat in office is a tricking time bomb, waiting to blow up at first opportunity fiscal  restraint,  traditional values, and constitutional government.  

Sixth, any Republican holding office who speaks of "working with" Democrats is an idiot and should be retired immediately.    Working with Democrats is slow surrender to tyranny.     Conservatives should insist that future candidates pledge to make war on the Democrats just as one makes war on cancer or other deadly enemies.  There should be no cooperation with sedition, no negotiation with communists.   Democrats must be defeated.

Finally, we are going to find out if the American people are truly sheep or if the Spirit of 1776 still lives in the breasts of the populace.     The Obama administration and the leftist Congress are a curse which Americans brought on themselves;  only the people can remove the curse and turn the country around toward sanity.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency today declared carbon dioxide a dangerous pollutant.   Effectively, this Federal government agency has declared a natural recurring gas which is omitted by every living human being a danger to public health.   A more insane declaration by a government entity is impossible to imagine. 

This is a second Pearl Harbor, an act of war by the Federal government against the American people.   The government has declared that exhaling is tantamount to polluting, which makes you and I dangerous polluters!   This asinine finding opens the door to the regulation of virtually every aspect of economic life in the country.   For that matter, it opens the board to taxing every human being for the act of living, as all of us can be declared in violation of the Clean Air Act and subject to fine or tax for our carbon dioxide footprint.

This is an upraised middle finger from the Obama EPA to the American people and the Congress for their unwillingness to pass the disastrous cap and trade legislation languishing in the Senate.   Obama is seizing the power via regulation to control vast areas of life heretofore off limits to the reach of the Federal government without regard to checks and balances of the democratic process.  

As the EPA implements today's decision the damage to the nation's economy and liberty will be calamitous.   I really think that serious civil unrest is in our near future.    We may be in the process of becoming a nation of sheep, but there are still some rams left in the country who will not sit still while this colossal idiot we have as president destroys the country.

Late Saturday night past the House of Representatives voted by narrow majority to bring back slavery in the United States.   The Marxist health care legislation adopted by these so-called representatives of the people is a grievous betrayal of their oath of office, an act of war against the Constitution order and against the American people, who have made it crystal clear that they do not want this "reform."   The passage of this bill becomes the high-water mark (so far) of "hope and change," the fundamental transformation of America, brought to us by the first American president who assumed office hating and despising the history and society which honored him with the highest office it can bestow.  How Barack and Michelle must have laughed at the voters who naively bought their smooth slogans and soothing promises .   Working with a Congressional leadership which would be perfectly at home in the Politburo of the old Soviet Union, the first Marxist president seeks to destroy our economy so as to make the American people desperate and afraid enough to accept the central government seizing control over their lives to a degree unimaginable to our forefathers, who must be rolling over in their graves.   Should health care "reform" be enacted, individual freedom in America ceases to be a right and becomes dependable on the goodwill of the state, as determined by the daily mood of the local government bureaucrat.   Think the local revenue office is a model of civility?  The post office the model of efficiency?   Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of stew -  if the majority of the House which passed this bill is supposed to represent a majority of Americans, then a majority of this country is prepared to sell its liberty for the promise of "free" health care.  In both cases, the short sightedness of the act is breathtaking in scope and tragic in consequence.   Have we really become such a nation of sheep, that we willingly surrender our liberty for the promise of goodies dispensed by a beneficent federal government?  Is it so hard to understand that there is no such thing as a beneficent central government?    History has revealed that while liberty is a gift from God,  men can lose that liberty though indolence and ignorance and that any trade of liberty for the promise of economic security (in whatever guise) ends with the loss of both.   It is staggering that even one United States Representative voted for this abomination of a bill.    It is a vote to make Americans slaves and serfs in their own land, indentured servants on the government plantation.  We will become not a people with a government, but a government with a people.   In essence the American Revolution will be undone, with the all powerful central state stepping in for King George III.    

In ages past classical liberalism strove to expand human freedom by limiting the power of the state.  Today contemporary liberalism seeks to destroy freedom by expanding the power of the state.  There is wickedness at work in the heart of today's leftist, the craving for power to shape all things to his will.  It is an age old wickedness, which came into being before the forming of the Earth, and had its first human incarnation in the Garden of Eden.  It is a wickedness which in men instills the belief that he can make all things perfect and new.   The founders of the nation were well aware of the true natures of the heart of men and that man was incapable of perfection.  They knew that power corrupts men and unchecked power corrupts absolutely.   That's why they created a limited central government, with specifically limited powers, to ensure that even if wicked men, though having obtained temporary power with promises to use power for good and attractive things, could not wreck and ruin the country.   Over the generations arrogant men who always believe they know better how to order the universe have worked to remove brick by brick the constitutional limits on the central government.   Socialized health care represents the ultimate expression of the hubris of men thinking they can perfect the world.   It represents not simply wrecking the finest health care system in the world but transferring to the state the power of  life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.   It is a usurpation of  the people's power unprecedented in this country, a true coup d' e-tat which vitiates the original compact which formed the union.    If this legislation becomes law, the government of the United States may have the form of a democratic republic but it will not be so in substance.  Instead, we will become the 21st century version of the Soviet Union, corruptly administered by a capricious bureaucracy drunk with the power of life and death over a population sullen with poverty and impotence, whose votes change nothing and mean nothing.   Every possession and every life will exist to be regulated and administered to better serve the "common good," i.e., the state.  We will be monitored by the forces of political correctness so that every thought and expression conforms and is acceptable to the new order of things.  Welcome to the land of Big Brother.   Oceania has become Obamia.
